What is the direct entry scheme method?

  • The direct entry scheme method is another method of enrolling yourself in the field of Chartered Accountant Profession.
  • A candidate entering through the Direct route method in the field of Chartered Accountant is exempted from the Giving CA Foundation exam.
  • ICAI has implemented this policy on 1st august 2012.
  • What is the Eligibility Criteria of a Student who is Entering through the Direct Entry Method?

    1. Graduates/ Postgraduate in the field of Commerce- Students who are graduate/ Post-Graduate in the field of commerce should have scored atleast an aggregate of 55% from a recognized university including distance education student and they should have given 3 papers of 100 marks each of mercantile law, economics, accounting, auditing, and business law.
    2. Graduate/Postgraduate other than commerce field- Students who are from the fields other than commerce need to score an aggregate of 60% in order to enroll themselves for the profession of Chartered Accountant.
    3. ICSI and ICWA students- Students who have passed the Intermediate level of Institution of company secretary (ICSI), Institute of Cost and Works Accounts of India (ICWA) exams can apply for it.

    What is the Process to register for the CA Direct Entry?

    The students who is applying in CA through the direct entry route have to start their article ship training before CA intermediate examination in comparison to CA Foundation route method where they have to first clear a group of CA Intermediate exam then they have to commence the article ship training.

    For the graduates and postgraduates-

    • The students who are in their final year of the graduation can register before 6 months of completion of their graduation with the provisional proof that they will commence their article ship training after submitting their graduation mark sheet with the above-specified marks.
    • Apply for the ICITSS ( Integrated course of Information technology and soft skills) Training of one month.
    • Apply for the 3 Year of Articleship training.
    • After completion of 9 months of Article Ship training, they have to apply for the CA Intermediate exams.
    • Clear both or single group after 9 Months.
    • Register for CA Final after completion of Both groups of CA Intermediate.
    • Complete your AICITSS ( Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills) while commencing your article ship training before appearing for the CA Final.
    • Appear in the CA Final examination after completion of Articleship training.
    • Clear CA Final both group exams and Become a member of ICAI.

    For the Students who have clear ICSI/ ICWA Intermediate level Exam

    • The students who have cleared the Intermediate Level of Institute of Companies secretary of India (ICSI) or Institute of Cost and works of India can register directly Into CA Intermediate exams.
    • The Registration process for these types of students would be the same as the CA Foundation students. After Registration, these students have to prepare for the CA Intermediate exam before commencing of article ship training.
    • After clearing either group one or both group they can register themselves for the CA Articleship training along with ICITSS training.
    • Complete One Month of ICITSS Training before commencing CA Articleship training.
    • Enroll for 3 years of Articleship training along with it students have to complete AICITSS before appearing for the CA Final examination.
    • Register For CA Final examination after completion of article ship training and AICITSS training.
    • Clear Both the Group of CA Final examination and Become a member with ICAI.

    What will be the Fee of students who are entering CA Through the Direct Entry route method?

    CA Intermediate is the second milestone of a CA Student. CA Intermediate Consist of 8 subjects which are divided into 2 Groups.

    Students who is appearing for the CA Intermediate have to register themselves for Both groups.

    Below are the Fee detail of CA Intermediate exams

    Registration Fee- 15000 Rs

    Students activities Fee- 2000 Rs

    Registration Fee as an Article Assistant- 1000 Rs

    Total fee- 18000 Rs

    Students with other citizenship have to pay a total fee of 1000$ in CA Intermediate.

    The Passing marks of CA Intermediate are 40% in all subjects along with the aggregate marks of 50%.
